This placement would suit... anyone looking for the most unique experience possible truly 'getting away from it all' in one of the world's last remaining wildernesses!

Projects Abroad offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in an ancient way of life. Travel with a nomadic Mongolian community, ride horses, camels, teach English & help them produce cheese & milk!

Both an adventure and a challenge, this cultural placement offers the chance to learn all about this ancient nomadic culture that is still a way of life for so many modern Mongolians. After an induction in Ulaanbaatar, you’ll fly down to Bayankhongor province to live in your own tent or ger next to a nomadic community.

You’ll help take care of livestock, learn how to produce the vital dairy products that sustain the community, and teach English in informal get-togethers, while learning about the challenges that face them and the changes that have been embraced from a modern Mongolia.

Throughout your placement you will have the full help and support of our staff in Mongolia as well as our office and staff in the UK.

Our users say...

"The most memorable thing from my placement was the music, from the sing-a-long in honour of a chess tournament to exchanging English and Mongolian ballads at top of our lungs in a small ger. In general the project was unforgettable and amazing. I would definitely recommend it and already have!" - Maayan Ashkenazi
