Lattitude Global Volunteering placements suit individuals with a can-do attitude who are willing to make the most of their placement and above all enjoy it.

For applicants from the UK, we have a number of bursary schemes available for volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.

Our bursary scheme and funded placement projects reduce the barrier of cost for young people experiencing financial problems. They are designed to help young people who would not otherwise be able to afford to go.

Lattitude Global Volunteering has a range of projects in South Africa.

There are presently four outdoor placements in the remote southern Drakensberg Mountains and we are looking to expand this type of placement. It involves looking after children and teaching them about environmental studies and adventure based activities which promote group dynamics and leadership skills.

All of the schools in which Lattitude Global Volunteering operates are multicultural, co-educational and can be either primary or secondary. There are opportunities in private boarding schools, state day schools and technical colleges. Some of these schools can be very rural and remote.

In day schools, volunteers assist with teaching, sports, extra curricular activities, computer studies and administration.

In boarding schools, Lattitude Global Volunteeringpers help with boarding house duties, expeditions, school societies, sport, extra curricular activities and office work.

Many schools operate outreach programmes in the wider community that will involve you. You may well be working alongside other international volunteers. A Teaching Skills Course is necessary for all schools projects.
