This placement would suit... anyone who wants to have a laugh, work hard, give back and go MAD!

Pick a destination, sling a rucksack on your back, meet a group of new friends, get stuck into rewarding and challenging work in an exciting rural location and revel in a mind blowing experience...that's Madventurer!

Our Peruvian projects are based high up in the Andes, in and around the city of Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Despite a wealth of natural resources and a thriving tourist industry capitalizing on the country’s awe inspiring rugged beauty, over 50% of Peru’s population lives in poverty. We work together with rural communities, in building much needed educational facilities and infrastructure, and have also built and renovated countless orphanages and street childrens homes, which struggle to accommodate the growing number of children who end up on the streets of the city, in search of a better future.

On the project.

On arrival on a project in Peru you’ll be met at the airport by your crew leader and introduced to your fellow Madventurers, before being whisked away to the village you’ll be calling home for the next 5 weeks!

Living at the heart of a rural community and working alongside local volunteers on a building project, with the opportunity to teach in local schools, you’ll be amazed by how quickly you feel at home as you settle into village life, and make new friends on the building site and in the classroom!

On the building site you can expect to be carrying, mixing, painting, plastering and laying, working alongside members of the local community and your Madventurer team, to complete the building and see it ready for use before you leave! In the classroom you’ll have the opportunity to bring your enthusiasm and energy to lessons, teaching subjects such as English and Maths, as well as holding more creative classes including art, music and sports. Our projects are flexible, allowing you to teach, build, or combine the two.

Weekends on the project are your free time and a chance to explore! You could find yourself following in the footsteps of the Inca’s to Machu Picchu, canoeing across the clear blue waters of Lake Titicaca, or dancing to the Latino beat on a night out in the city.

Our Users Say…

“Being appreciated by the villagers was the most amazing aspect, shown at both the opening and closing ceremonies in their speeches. It really felt as though we had made a difference to their daily lives with our hard work. “ - Laura Weatherill, Llupa, Peru 2005
