Oaxaca, Mexico Accommodation is provided with Mexican host families, staying at their homes in the town in which you will be teaching. There is no better way to really become part of the community than this. Qualifications and Minimum Skills A basic knowledge of Spanish would be useful in communicating with the local people and making understanding between you and the children easier. Aside from this, a passion for making a difference and helping underprivileged communities is essential, as well as dedication to the cause. What can I do in my spare time? There is be plenty for you to do in your free time. The area has some great surf breaks and excellent fishing spots. There are also hiking and cycling trails in the beautiful, mountainous landscape. If you prefer a spot of culture or history, there a plenty of archaeological sites, interesting architecture and old churches.
