Lattitude placements suit individuals with a can-do attitude who are willing to make the most of their placement and above all enjoy it. We especially look for volunteers with interests in extra-curricular activities such as sports or music

For applicants from the UK, we have a number of bursary schemes available for volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.

Our bursary scheme and funded placement projects reduce the barrier of cost for young people experiencing financial problems. They are designed to help young people who would not otherwise be able to afford to go.

New Zealand is famous for it’s natural beauty, and as a conservation volunteer, you'll be able to contribute to the New Zealand environment in a very practical way. Whether you're involved in planting trees, clearing scrubland, collecting seeds, restoring habitats for endangered species, flora/fauna surveys, maintaining walking tracks, coastal stabilisation, restoring urban heritage properties, or assisting with school conservation programmes, you know that what you're doing will have long-term benefits.

Lattitude offers conservation placements in partnership with our partners, Conservation Volunteers New Zealand, and volunteers carry out work under the supervision of qualified Team Leaders. Most of your team members will be international volunteers, from places like Scandinavia, Japan, Korea and the USA, so your cultural connections will expand considerably during your time away.

You may be placed anywhere in New Zealand but will start and end in Auckland.

Conservation placements suit volunteers who are reasonably fit, enjoy being a member of a team, and who have a passion for the outdoors. Food and accommodation is provided. Placements begin in February and end in July.

It is a country of great natural beauty - mountains, rivers, lakes, forest and beaches. Travel around is affordable and easy. New Zealand has built a renowned reputation as an unspoilt wilderness - the country's social emphasis on ecology and a resolute anti-nuclear stance can now be seen to have led the way. New Zealanders are fanatical about sport, especially rugby. The strength and depth of successive All Blacks touring teams, drawn from a comparatively small population has been impressive.
When can I go?

Placements begin in February and September and last for 5 months.
