This placement would suit... someone who really loves animals and would like to work with koalas, dingoes and crocodiles as well as many other fascinating creatures (including creepy crawlies and [the less venomous] snakes) whilst experiencing the true Aussie lifestyle!

Changing Worlds can offer the unique opportunity to work in zoos in the Brisbane region of South East Queensland in Australia.

Australia has so much to offer with its beautiful scenery, stunning beaches and lively culture. Changing Worlds offers a variety of paid and voluntary placements, each of which will give you a true Aussie experience.

These highly popular placements last for three months and give the opportunity to look behind the scenes of a working zoo.

As a volunteer you can expect to join a highly enthusiastic and motivated team of people who work endlessly in the interest of the animals, birds and reptiles in their care.

These placements suit those people who wish to work in the sector in the future or have some real experiences of working with exotic animals.

Sadly it is not about cuddling animals all day - work begins before the visitors arrive in the morning with cleaning chores, feeding and watering and general zoo maintenance. Once the visitor’s start arriving then you can find yourself selling entry tickets, providing guided tours or organising lunch for lots of excited children.

In Australia you will live with host families close to the zoo. You can take a bus or pedal in to and from work every day.

"Take it from someone who is still out in Australia and has been so since last September, this will be one of the best experiences of your life!!!!!

I could not have asked for a better family to be placed with and just had thee best time of my life.

From all the other guys n girls i came over here with and keep in touch with said that each family/person they stayed with really made them feel welcomed and part of their family.

My experience with changing worlds has been amazing and would recommend it to anyone. My advice is, if you're thinking about whether to go through with it or not just do it you won't regret it."
