Based on the beach of Lake Malawi at the award winning Nkwichi Safari Lodge. Help run this exclusive safari lodge whilst carrying out rewarding community and conservation projects, such as teaching English and removing animal snares from the bush.

A beach and bush experience
You will help run this exclusive safari lodge whilst carrying out rewarding community and conservation projects, such as teaching English and removing animal snares from the bush.

Mozambique is finally becoming a hot destination for the intrepid traveller. It is a wonderful country offering some of the most spectacular beaches and reefs in the world, yet both the pristine surroundings and the contented, humble attitude of its people have been unspoilt by conventional tourism. On your time off you will be able to make full use of the lake with all the watersports on offer, venture into the bush on safari or simply sail peacefully down the lake on an African dhow.

Helping how?
Leap 1: Nkwichi Safari Lodge
- Assist in all aspects of lodge life including the organisation of its renowned walking, canoe and dhow safaris.

Leap 2: Community
- Teach English and conservation to schoolchildren.
- Help establish and run a community market to sell agricultural products.
- Paint murals inside a local maternity ward.
- Supervise school building projects.
The Leap
Leap 3: Conservation
- Build bush camps in the reserve.
- Patrol for animal snares set by poachers.
- Identify and map local game movements.
- Assist in road and simple bridge construction.

Adventure
- Safaris on foot, canoe or dhow
- Snorkelling and sailing
- Hiking and climbing

Group size: 10 - 12 volunteers per placement.
