This placement would suit... someone who wants to living an amazing island lifestyle while gaining professional PADI qualifications that can lead on to paid work around the World. Please contact us to find out more and we can direct you to our website which has all the details or give you a call to tell you all about it. IntroductionDivemasters and Instructors are PADI professionals, qualified to get paid diving jobs around the World. This option can open the door to a completely new lifestyle and career. Dive centres need Divemasters to organise dive trips, assist with the instruction of divers and lead underwater tours. Instructor is the next level up, focusing on teaching dive skills. Instructors are needed to conduct a broad range of programmes for both new and experienced divers. Our programmes take you from your current dive level (if any) up to PADI professional. Divemaster and Instructor are demanding, fun and rewarding courses that develop and assess a wide range of dive skills and knowledge. Location and lifestyle You will be based on Koh Tao, a beautiful and fun island in the Gulf of Thailand, which is now one of the World’s top dive training locations. The island of Koh Tao (population 5,000) is a dramatic mix of dense jungle and hilly terrain in its interior and granite outcrops and beaches along the coast.Koh Tao is surrounded by an excellent range of dive sites, all within a 40 minute boat ride, where you will discover a mix of hard and soft corals and abundant marine life. The sites vary in depth from just a few metres down to 40 metres, there is little current and the water temperature is always warm, ranging from about 27°C to 31°C. Diving is very social and there is a big dive community on the island so you will usually find yourself rounding off the day with everyone heading to the dive school bar to watch the sunset and the day’s dive video, before eating at one of the many restaurants. There are also plenty of bars and venues for late night island fun! There will be plenty of time to relax and when you are not diving you can explore the island, visit one of the beaches, take a hike up to one of the mountain viewpoints or just relax by the pool! If you fancy a change you can also take a ferry over to one of the other islands (Koh Phangan and Koh Samui). Divemaster programme Our programmes take you up to Rescue Diver first and then you are able to start the Divemaster course, which is scheduled over six weeks and longer than most dive schools allow. This helps you to gain lots of experience and take advantage of the unlimited diving. It also gives you more flexibility to manage the time as you want. Once you are qualified there is also a two to three week internship option (at no further cost) to build up your practical experience and prepare you for a diving career. This includes leading dives, dive logistics, sales & marketing, and equipment maintenance. What's included
Instructor courses are run every month and take two weeks. Courses include the PADI Instructor course itself and all PADI fees and materials. If you are serious about a career as an Instructor, we highly recommend going on to do the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) internship programme which runs for two to six weeks and gives you five Instructor specialties and your first 25 certifications (students you have taught and certified). Dates, duration and prices To go from beginner to Divemaster takes about 2-3 months, or less if you already have a dive qualification. Divemaster courses can start on any date. The Instructor course takes 2 weeks and runs once a month.Divemaster prices: From Beginner = £1595, Open Water already = £1485, Advanced already = £1350, Rescue already = £1150. The Instructor course is an extra £1395. Our users say: "This is just a quick email to tell you that I am now a fully qualified OWSI (Instructor). Thank you for all of your help in organising this entire package, I have had an awesome time, met some amazing people, been to some amazing places, and done some pretty amazing things. Now I'm off to (hopefully) find a job somewhere around the Caribbean!" - Alex "I wanted to go travelling on my own, but I didn’t have the guts to just turn up in Bangkok and then go 'er... now what?!'. Knowing that there was going to be someone there to meet me, knowing that I had somewhere to stay, and also just having someone to introduce me was all that I needed really, and that was the least of what PoD could do. Also, they've got me into diving, which I personally believe is the best thing since bread itself was invented, so I'd recommend it to anyone who I can get to stand still long enough! Sorry to quote dirty dancing, but I had the time of my life!" - Nicole
