Teaching & Projects Abroad have some very special placements for people interested in sports.  Situated on a private beach with access to a lagoon and its own swimming pool, this is a well-equipped camp for children of all ages. Fun and learning is the aim and they need volunteers to help achieve this.

If you want to be actively involved in water-sports, including surfing, windsurfing, swimming, boogie-boarding, kayaking and snorkelling this is definitely the placement for you. TPA volunteers act as camp counsellors, taking charge of a range of activities, and generally caring for the children day-to-day. You may be asked to help with anything from the water-sports to mountain biking, orienteering, theatre, fishing, jewellery making, ceramic painting and even break-dancing! So let us know what you enjoy most.

The camp provides holidays for a wide variety of children - but many will be middle class, so don’t come expecting to work with poorer South African communities. However, if you really want to focus on outdoor activities or even arts and crafts then this is an incredibly fun, rewarding and enjoyable placement.

You’ll promote teamwork and self-confidence, while improving your own, and for every volunteer that takes part in this programme, Teaching & Projects Abroad will sponsor a local disadvantaged child to attend the camp.  You will have your own placement supervisor and the full support of our local office and staff.  With so many remarkable sites, your free time will be awash with travel opportunities!
