Introduction
Discover a different side to diving, working alongside professional videographers. Learn how to film dive students and marine life, and then edit the film into short 'dive movies'.

The Videographer programme
Our programmes take you from your current dive level (if any) up to Rescue Diver to ensure you have the skills and safety to start the Videographer course. You will then spend 2-4 weeks (28 dives) making underwater video, filming dive students and marine life in the mornings and editing in the afternoons.

This is a great way to enjoy the underwater environment and can also lead on to work as there are paid opportunities for videographers around the world.

Location and lifestyle
PoDYou will be based on Koh Tao, a beautiful and fun island in the Gulf of Thailand, which is now one of the World’s top dive training locations. The island of Koh Tao (population 5,000) is a dramatic mix of dense jungle and hilly terrain in its interior and granite outcrops and beaches along the coast.

Koh Tao is surrounded by an excellent range of dive sites, all within a 40 minute boat ride, where you will discover a mix of hard and soft corals and abundant marine life. The sites vary in depth from just a few metres down to 40 metres, there is little current and the water temperature is always warm, ranging from about 27°C to 31°C.

Diving is very social and there is a big dive community on the island so you will usually find yourself rounding off the day with everyone heading to the dive school bar to watch the sunset and the day’s dive video, before eating at one of the many restaurants. There are also plenty of bars and venues for late night island fun!

There will be plenty of time to relax and when you are not diving you can explore the island, visit one of the beaches, take a hike up to one of the mountain viewpoints or just relax by the pool! If you fancy a change you can also take a ferry over to one of the other islands (Koh Phangan and Koh Samui).

Our users say:

"What a place, was brilliant, hope to go back next year. The dive school staff were really nice, diving was incredible. Would recommend POD because it easy to deal with and I had a great time" - Ross

"I wanted to go travelling on my own, but I didn’t have the guts to just turn up in Bangkok and then go 'er... now what?!'. Knowing that there was going to be someone there to meet me, knowing that I had somewhere to stay, and also just having someone to introduce me was all that I needed really, and that was the least of what PoD could do. Also, they've got me into diving, which I personally believe is the best thing since bread itself was invented, so I'd recommend it to anyone who I can get to stand still long enough! Sorry to quote dirty dancing, but I had the time of my life!" - Nicole
