Leap 1 ConservationHelp on the dolphin and whale shark projects plus forestry research. Each day the boat will go out with a professional crew where you will search for dolphins and record where they have been spotted. You will get to know the dolphins by their markings and scars. We hope that by the end of your time you will be able to know when they surface to play, when they are feeding and when they are generally annoyed! If the dolphins and whale sharks are receptive and not out in the deep ocean, swimming with them is a possibility. Help The Kenya Wildlife Service with their beach cleaning and rubbish sorting projects. Help identify and log the various trees, shrubs and plants on Wasini Island. Leap 2 Community Teaching/School Improvement Teach English and sport to the local children at the Pongwe and Kidimu Schools. Of the 7400 children in the 10 local primary schools less than 50 pass their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and of those only 12 go onto secondary education. With your help a lot more will reach secondary school. Assistance may be required to help with the construction and improvement of fresh water systems in the local villages and you can help teach basic hygiene awareness, as well as redecorating schools and the Deaf Unit.
