You could be working on low key but sustainable conservation and eco-tourism projects in the Kanuku Moutains, North Rupunnuni or Pakaraima Mountains. There are a number of rainforest lodges, but the tourism trade to them is small, mainly due to a lack of knowledge about Guyana, and the lack of communication links and infrastructure within the country. The Guyanese government recognises the country's assets and is keen to raise its profile and develop eco-tourism into one of the largest industries in the coming years. Plans are already afoot to facilitate this through the provision of appropriate infrastructure and communications in a sustainable and responsible manner.1 week trek According to Conservation International, the Guiana's region of the Amazon is home to the largest pristine and undisturbed rainforest in the world. This is where we will be trekking! The second main natural vegetation is savannah grassland, split into two distinct areas, one in the South West of the country, the second in the North East. You could be trekking through the Iwokrama Mountains, or in the foothills of the Pakaraimas. Whether you are trekking to the base of the largest single drop waterfall in the world, canoeing up the Potaro river or spending time with the Vaqeroes of the Savannah land, Guyana has so much to offer and Trekforce can take you to the remoter parts of the area, safely. Our Users Say..... ‘Trekforce has given me memories that I will hold forever, huge pride in my achievement and has introduced me to some fantastic people.
