If you're between finishing A levels and going to University or just fancy an extended voluntary holiday then CT1 is perfect and hopefully just what you're looking for. Elements of CT1 Camp Tanzania programmes operate from the Moshi area of Northern Tanzania, literally in the foothills of Kilimanjaro. As with everything we do there is a strong community and wildlife focus and there is probably nowhere better in the world to enjoy an experience combining these elements. For the really adventurous you can use your third week to climb Kilimanjaro or Mt Meru. 3-week School Project in the Kilimanjaro foothills 3-day big game safari in National Parks Swahili lessons, orientation, 24hr on-site management Cultural excursions including a visit to a Masai village Optional mountain week for Kilimanjaro/ Mt Meru* * Mountain climbs are booked separately on request for an additional charge Community Our Tanzania community project is based with Mbokomu Primary School in Korini-a short 5-minute walk from camp. There is years of sustainable project work at the school starting with the construction of a new school canteen for the 800 plus students who need to be fed every day. There are over 14 classrooms to be renovated, desks need building and water is currently available 250 metres away so we would like to bring a supply closer. The community project work lasts for 3 weeks of your trip and is the main focus and probably most rewarding part of your time with Camp Tanzania. Wildlife Safari: No visit to Africa is truly complete without one. A 3 day safari is included in your stay and you will drive out every day with a guide in specialist vehicles for game viewing drives. It is widely recognised that Northern Tanzania provides a backdrop for possibly the best safari experience in Africa and we haven’t cut any corners. We take you on a camping safari to Lake Manyara, Arusha, Tarangire National Parks. If you have never been on safari this will be something that you will remember for the rest of your life. Mountain Kilimanjaro Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing volcano in the world and the tallest mountain in Africa . At an altitude of 5895 metres it presents a formidable challenge. We take our time and as such over 95% of our climbers reach the top. Our trek lasts for 7 days and follows the stunning Machame Route to the summit, Uhuru Peak If you choose Kilimanjaro as your adventure package you will not be disappointed as you sit on the highest point in Africa watching the sunrise.
