 Experience Thai Culture and learn to dive on this excellent Thailand sports programme. From the jungles to the beaches, you will have many different experiences that make this an amazing country to travel on a gap year. Thailand is renowned for having some of the best dive-sites in the world. With clear waters, corals and hundreds of species of tropical fish, it offers everything a beginner diver would want. Join this programme if you want to learn to dive and experience all that Thailand has to offer in one trip! The Thai Experience and Diving itinerary Week One - Introduction This week is your introduction to Thailand. During this week you will learn about Thailand, its people, culture, attitudes and customs, with some basic language lessons too. You will have a number of trips during this week. Week two - Temple Stay & Outdoor Activities Learn all about the Buddhist faith, with a stay in a Buddhist temple. Learn to meditate from the local Monks, a rare experience that most travellers do not have. Week three - Trekking For the next 3 days you and the other participants will go trekking in the jungle and rainforest in the Phutoei National Park. You will be roughing it in beautiful surroundings! After this experience, you will have a lot to boast about when you go home as you will be sleeping in hammocks and surviving with just the basics - you are sure to have a lot of fun! The guides are very friendly and will support you throughout your journey. Week Four - PADI Dive Course Based on the Island of Koh Tao, spend a week doing your PADI Open Water. The course is taken by fully accredited Dive Masters and is conducted under all of the necessary safety precautions that PADI enforce. Location Upon arrival at Bangkok airport you will be met by a guide who will take you to the hotel for your 2-night stop over in Bangkok. On Sunday you will be collected by our coordinator and taken to the Sing Buri province, 142kms North of Bangkok. Spend week 3 trekking in a Thai jungle before moving on to Koh Tao for the PADI Open Water course. Accommodation Accommodation is provided in of our three 'Eco Houses'. The houses sleep from 11 to 28 people. All houses have dorm rooms with the number of beds ranging from 3 to 12. All houses have western style toilets! Each bathroom has a shower and the water is always cool - nice and refreshing in the heat. All houses have a communal area where you can eat, relax and meet your fellow travellers.
