The main focus of the Texas Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre project is to provide rescue, rehabilitation, and release of orphaned, injured, and displaced wildlife, and to provide sanctuary with dignity for non-releasable and non-native wild animals. The Volunteer ProjectYou may be involved in basic animal care, cleaning cages and feeding, landscaping, data entry, laundry, animal diet preparation, enrichment etc. If you have a certain skill such as mechanics, landscaping, carpentry or maintenance, you will have the opportunity to work using these skills during your time at the sanctuary. You may have the chance to visit schools or businesses to help educate the public about urban wildlife issues. You may have the chance to work with:
Project LocationTexas, the Lone Star State, is the second largest state in the USA. Known for its expansive ranches, rodeos, the large and diverse cities of Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston and the beautiful beaches of the Gulf Coast. The project is based near Kendalia in the Heart of Texas Hill Country. Accommodation & MealsYou will stay in one of three volunteer homes based on the property. Each home can be mixed but rooms will be single sex. There are two shared bathrooms in each home and the kitchen and living areas are common rooms used by all members of the household. Meals are not included in the price of the programme. We recommend that you budget £25-£30 for food shopping each week.
