Lying on the equator, Kenya is a great place to spend time in. Its diverse geography results in a range of natural habitats, while its history of migration and conquests has brought about a colourful ethnic mix. The climate in the region where we work is very pleasant, without extremes of heat.
Volunteers teach in a secondary school in the Bomet region. This is the Maasai Mara region and known for its beautiful countryside. As the school is a secondary school, classes are taught in English and volunteers can teach a variety of subjects. This could include English, maths, history, science, sports and music depending on volunteers' qualifications and needs of the school; it is even possible to help the students with some computer skills.
Our users say… "Everything is great. The rugby field is pure carnage. The ball is either ignored or pursued by the whole team like a bunch of headless chickens. However, even if the rules remain a mystery to the majority, the enjoyment is obvious and definitely a good reason for my determination to remain" - Ben Van Noort.
